Dear Residents,

At Norstar Property Management, we recognize that many people in our community are being faced with health and/or economic concerns, because of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. We want to assure all of our community members, that we are here to try to help, because the last thing we want is for anyone to worry about losing a safe place to call home.

Unfortunately, because of the amount of information circulating online and elsewhere, it is possible that our residents could be misinformed regarding how the COVID-19 pandemic affects their obligation to pay rent. Our hope is to provide some clarity on that issue. Unless you are directly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, there are no laws or executive orders currently in effect that eliminate or limit your obligation to pay the full amount of your rent in a timely manner.

As a result, if you have suffered a job loss or other substantial loss of income due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and you are unable to pay your rent, then we encourage you to notify us as soon as possible. We would be happy to discuss alternative arrangements that may be made to accommodate any of our community members who are experiencing a COVID-19 related hardship. However, unless you contact us, we will have no way of knowing that you need our assistance, and we will continue to expect you to make complete and timely rent payments.

If you are not currently experiencing a COVID-19 related hardship, then you should continue to pay rent as usual. Our ability to be flexible with our community members who have been directly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, and our ability to continue providing services to all of our community members (such as keeping the lights on, streets plowed, lawns mowed, and water flowing), could be negatively impacted if all of our community members do not do their part.
